Group Dates: Dos & Don'ts :

In some cases, more people really do mean more fun. But that's not always the case when it comes to dates. While some folks enjoy the party atmosphere of a group date, others prefer the single one-on-one aspect of a date. If you really want to try a group date, just make sure you follow these dos and don'ts:

DO: ASK FIRST! 

Before you assume your date wants to join you and your friends for a night on the town, ask first! He/she may not be ready to meet your friends or co-workers. Or he/she may not be in the mood to socialize with strangers. It's always best to check with your date before planning any type of group activity. If you don't, you could end up looking like an insensitive clod.

DON'T: MAKE IT OVERWHELMING: 

Invite one or two of your friends, or another couple or two. But don't turn a group date into a huge party! If there are 6 or more of your friends at the table--and your date has never met any of them--it's too easy for your date to feel left out of the fun or abandoned by you. Keep group dates small until your date has had a chance to meet a few of your friends on more than one occasion.

DO: PAY ATTENTION:

 Does your date look bored? Is he/she checking the clock on the wall? Is he/she participating in the conversation? Stay in tune with your date's emotions. If you spend the evening reminiscing about old times with your friends, expect your date to feel annoyed and bored. Check in with your date occasionally to ensure he/she is having an enjoyable time.
