The meal is over, the movie is finished and you're standing in the doorway. You're longing for that first, sweet kiss---and you think your date is ready to smooch, too. But you're worried this sweet moment might turn into a fumbling, bumbling disaster. So how do you ensure that it all goes smoothly? Here are Tips for a first kiss date.
Before you even get to the door, make sure your breath is fresh and clean. Nibble the parsley that garnished your meal (parsley is a natural breath freshener), or slip a mint into your mouth (many restaurants keep them by the entrance). If you don't have parsley or a mint handy, try finishing your meal with a peppermint dessert--like a parfait--or a mint-flavored coffee drink. LEAN IN: Make sure your date is receptive to the idea of a goodnight kiss by leaning your body close to him/her. If a look of horror crosses your date's face--and he/she steps away from you--odds are good that they're not interested in pressing their lips against yours. However, if they remain firmly in place (or, even better, lean towards you), chances are they're hoping to lock lips, too. BE SWEET: Unless the two of you have been containing a raging passion all evening (in which case, you can probably skip both the mint-fresh mouth and the "lean"), keep your first kiss soft and sweet. It should leave lingering desire on your date's lips, rather than sending him/her running for a toothbrush.
